Scope and Content

The master, fellows and scholars of Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge, lease to Thomas Nutter of Cambridge, brewer, a new-built tenement on the north side of Walls Lane or Sussex Street, Cambridge, formerly part of the master's garden, for 40 years from 1825 at an annual rent of #10. Clause against unauthorised alienation. Sealed with college seal, duty stamps. Considerably amended in pencil. Endorsed: 'The House was built by / valuation of Mr Biggs and / Mr Hollingsworth at the / sum of 408.14.1'. Parchment supplied by William and John Arnold of Bristol, engraving by Silvester and Co of The Strand.
