Sir Donald Bannerman (b. 1899 in Cheltenham) was educated at Harrow and Sandhurst. As 2nd Lieutenant, Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders, he served in North Russia, May-Sep. 1919, and later became Lieutenant Colonel.
