Phyllis Getrude Ross was the nome de plume used by Lady McKie. She was born in Montreal, Canada, and travelled extensively, including visits to Jersey. In 1956 she married her second husband, Sir William McKie. She died in Canada on 12 January 1983.Charles Robin (1743-1824), trader and shipbuilder, left his native Jersey in 1765 to establish fishing concerns in Canada. By the nineteenth century his Charles Robin Company was the largest fishing company in Canada.
