No biographical information was available regarding Robert Davies of Tan-y-coed, Llanrug, Caernarfonshire at time of compilation of description. His essay on the history of the parish of Llanrug was entered for competition in the Llanrug Chapel Eisteddfod in March 1937.
Llanrug parish is located in north Caernarfonshire and surrounded by the parishes of Llanbeblig, Llanddeiniolen and Llanberis.
