Administrative / Biographical History

The South-East Lancashire Card and Blowing Room Operatives' (Provincial) Association was formed in 1887, covering Ashton-under-Lyne, Stalybridge, Droylsden, Hurst and Milbrook. In 1967 it merged with the Hyde and District Card, Blowing and Ring Frame Operatives' Association and the Stockport Card Room and Ring Spinner's Association to form the South-East Lancashire and Cheshire Textile Operatives' Association.
