Coptic manuscripts of Paul Ernest Jablonski

Five volumes of Paul Ernest Jablonski's Coptic manuscripts, 18th-19th century. Includes a psalter, parts of the Bible, and liturgies.

Paul Ernest Jablonski (1693-1757) was one of the earliest Coptic scholars. The Library's admission registers show him to have visited Oxford in 1718 to work on the manuscripts.

Entry to read in the Library is permitted only on presentation of a valid reader's card (for admissions procedures see http://www.bodley.ox.ac.uk).

The manuscripts were purchased by the Radcliffe Trust following Jablonski's death. They were deposited in the Bodleian in 1894.
