Scope and Content

For homage and service, Robert le Arblaster of Asle [Ashley, Cambridgeshire], confirms his gift to Peter, vicar of the church of W'dedictun [Wood Ditton, Cambridgeshire], of a messuage with adjacent croft in Ashley, formerly John Freman's, reserving annual rent of one penny for all services, aids and dues. Witnessed by Reginald Arsich, Richard Mervelus, William Randulf, Geoffrey his brother, Roger Brien, Walter Conestable of Ashley, John Peytevin, Ralph de Cogeshale, William Payn de Chauele, Lawrence de Sartun', Walter ?Smothe, Baldewin ?Smothe, and others. Tag, seal wanting. Endorsed in later hand: '22'.
