Scope and Content

In the hand of Henry Jones there are :

Lists of preachers and the topics of their sermons from 1842-1849, with interesting references.

Various carols, songs and poetry. There are 18 verses being a history of the voyage of John Hughes, Erw Gein, Llanrug.

Interesting notes on John R. Williams and Henry Parry, both of which travelled to America, 1845-1846.

In a later hand there are :

Transcripts of epitaphs from cemeteries in Llanrug, Caernarfonshire; Llandrygarn and Llandysilio, Anglesey, 1880-1890.

Census of the children in Llandrygarn parish, Anglesey.

Administrative / Biographical History

Henry Jones was a native of the Dinorwig area and lived at Penhafodlas, Llanrug, Caernarfonshire. He died on 17 April 1849 at the age of 22.

Sir John Morris-Jones was a descendant of the Penhafodlas family.
