Scope and Content

This collection contains: minutes and papers of the organising committee, the National Board, the management committee and regional joint industry boards, 1939-2010; correspondence, papers and publications, 1922-2011. The regional board papers include some relating to claims for unfair dismissal.

Administrative / Biographical History

The Joint Industry Board for the Electrical Contracting Industry was established with effect from January 1968 by the Electrical Trades' Union and the National Federated Electrical Association "to regulate and control employment and productive capacity within the Industry and the level of skill and proficiency, wages and welfare benefits of persons concerned in the Industry."
