Administrative / Biographical History

This union was formed in 1991 by the amalgamation of the National Union of the Footwear, Leather and Allied Trades (NUFLAT) with the National Union of Hosiery and Knitwear Workers. On 1 July 2004 it merged with the Iron and Steel Trades Confederation to form Community.

Acquisition Information

Items with references beginning MSS.506 were transferred from the University Library. Accession 597 was deposited by Community, the successor trade union, in 2007. Accession 1193 was transferred from the Working Class Movement Library in 2017.
