Administrative / Biographical History
This seems to have begun as an attempt at amalgamation of the societies representing boilermakers, blacksmiths and shipwrights. The latter withdrew in June 1921 and the process of winding up the amalgmation began in the following August.

These records were deposited in 1978 by the Amalgamated Society of Boilermakers, Shipwrights, Blacksmiths and Structural Workers through the official historian of the Associated Blacksmiths', Forge and Smithy Workers' Society.
