Letters of James McKinley (fl. 1914-1922)

Scope and Content

The correspondence is composed of: letters from McKinley to his daughter in Chester, from Mexico City, 1915-1922; letters from Toronto, Canada, 1926-1934; and, copies of testimonials to his actions 1914-1915, and as Commandant of the British Defence Organisation in Mexico, 1916-1919. There are also letters of his son Donald McKinley to his daughter (the younger McKinley's sister), 1923-1926.

James McKinley was a Scottish businessman working in Mexico City in the inter-war period. His family lived in Chester, England.
