Letters from various correspondents such as Beriah Gwynfe Evans and Syr Walford Davies on various matters. Includes letters from the Private Secretaries of the Queen and the Prince of Wales regarding royal sponsorship of the Eisteddfod.

Various papers including a printed copy of the winning poem by E. Prosser Rhys and photographs of the chairing and the crowning ceremonies.

Account and minute books consisting of a list of competitors.

Administrative / Biographical History

The Royal National Eisteddfod of Wales, today, is held annually on alternate years in various locations in north and south Wales. In 1924, the festival was held at Pont-y-pwl in Monmouthshire. The two major competitions, the Chair and the Crown, were won by Cynan and E. Prosser Rhys, respectively.

Mr Robert Stephen of Colwyn Bay, north Wales, the creator of this unit, was the General Secretary of the Eisteddfod in 1924.
