Administrative / Biographical History

D. Moelwyn Williams, (fl. 1951-1974), of Corwen, Merionethshire, published a collection of poetry, Detholiad o Gerddi a Sonedau; he also collected a group of papers relating to Bala railway station. Bala Junction Station was opened in 1882, for passengers using the Llangollen line for Bala Town and/or Blaneau Festiniog. The Bala Junction to Bala was closed in 1964 due to flooding, and officially closed 1965.
