Administrative / Biographical History

This body was originally formed by the council of the Post Office Engineering Federation (POEF). This council was made up of six representatives of the Amalgamated Engineering and Stores Association (AE&SA) and two each from the Society of Post Office Engineers (SPOE), the Society of Post Office Engineering Inspectors and the Post Office Telegraph Mechanicians' Society. The POEF ceased to exist in 1932.
