This collection includes: correspondence concerning the linking agreement between the National Union of Journalists and the Greater London Council Staff Association, and other matters of concern to chapel members.

Administrative / Biographical History

Having been a press officer for Labour prime minister Harold Wilson between 1968 and 1970, Candler went on to work in similar roles for various departments of the Greater London Council (GLC). He was father of the GLC/ILEA chapel of the National Union of Journalists Press and Public Relations Branch from 1983 to 1986, when the GLC was abolished.
