Administrative / Biographical History

The National Eisteddfod is a Welsh musical and literary festival which is held annually, on alternate years, in various locations in north and south Wales.

Owing to the outbreak of the First World War, the Eisteddfod was postponed from 1914 to 1915. This resulted in a comparative financial failure notwithstanding the presence of Mr Lloyd George on the Chairing Day. However, the National Eisteddfod Association helped to liquidate the debt by sending a generous cheque of £150.
