Records of the Nottingham and District Hosiery Finishers Association, 1874-1956

The records consist solely of minutes from the Association (1931-60) and related bodies, including Basford and District associations (1874-1927).

The early development of the Association cannot be traced, but it is known that it amalgamated with the National Union of Hosiery and Knitwear Workers in 1969. At this time it had a membership of 3,200 and was one of the largest local societies representing hosiery workers.

The records are divided according to organisation and arranged chronologically within each section.
