Letter-books and papers of John Palmer, consisting of:  

  • Palmer's 'private' letter-books, containing letters written from Calcutta, 1808-34, each containing an alphabetical index of addressees at the front
  • Letter-books (without indexes) containing letters from Palmer, mainly written from Batavia, 1824, 1827-8
  • Business correspondence of John Palmer, with some family letters, 1813-41, newspaper cuttings, 1819-62, and letters, 1890, concerning John Palmer and the Palmer family
  • Account books containing 'private disbursements' of John Palmer, 1825-27
