Scope and Content

Two printed versions of the Welsh song, Y Bwthyn Bach To Gwellt. Also two letters, one written by W. Pari Huws, and the other addressed to him, on the subject of the aforementioned song and its composer, Crych Elen.

Administrative / Biographical History

Thomas Lloyd, musician, was born in Liverpool in 1841. He was raised in Dolwyddelan, Caernarfonshire where he became a quarryman, before emigrating to the United States. There he became a music teacher, a conductor and ran a music shop. He is also the composer of several popular songs including, Y Bwthyn Bach To Gwellt. He died in 1909.
