Administrative / Biographical History
This body was founded in 1935 and was an amalgamation of the World Alliance for International Friendship [through the churches] (British Section) and the Christian Social Council of Great Britain and Ireland (formerly known as the Universal Christian Council of Life & Work).
In 1939 this body amalgamated with the (English) Christian Social Council to form the Commission of the Churches for International Friendship and Social Responsibility.
