Administrative / Biographical History

The National Association for Soviet and East European Studies (formerly British National Association for Soviet and East European Studies) was the professional association of British academic specialists in Russian and Soviet history and social sciences from 1967 to 1988, when it merged with the British Universities Association of Slavists to form the British Association for Soviet, Slavonic and East European Studies (subsequently renamed the British Association for Slavonic and East European Studies).
