Scope and Content

The papers consist mostly of sermons / sermon notes as well as miscellaneous items such as newspapers articles from the Liverpool Daily Post and a copy of Seren Tan Gwmwl by John Jones.

Administrative / Biographical History

O. Madoc Roberts, born 1867, of Porthmadog, Caernarfonshire, studied at Didsbury College, Manchester to become a minister. He then served at Abergele Circuit in Denbighshire, Rhiwlas and finally Penisa'r-waun in Caernarfonshire before completing his probationary period. In 1917 he was made Book Steward of the Methodist Bookroom in Bangor, living at Garth Road, Bangor.

He was a regular contributor to Yr Eurgrawn and other periodicals and also the author of several publications including, Pobol Capel Nant-y-Gro and Bywyd Iesu Grist yn Ieuainc.

He married Miss Watkin Williams and they had three children. He died in October 1948 at the age of 81.
