Administrative / Biographical History
David Widgery (1947-1992) was a doctor, writer, journalist and activist. He joined the International Socialists (later the Socialist Workers' Party) in 1967 and was a co-founder of Rock Against Racism (RAR) in 1976. He qualified as a doctor in 1972 and began practising medicine at Bethnal Green Hospital, later working as a General Practioner in London's East End.
