Transcripts of interview with Baronness Brenda Dean and Bill O'Neill; revised versions of 'Copy Out!'

Scope and Content

In July 2010 Baroness Brenda Dean and Bill O’Neill met for a discussion and recorded interview at a hotel in Heathrow. This collection consists of transcripts of the discussion and two photographs. The original recordings are held at the Bishopsgate Institute as digital files and these copies were deposited for access.

Additional digital and updated versions of 'Copy Out!', Bill O'Neill's memoirs were deposited in 2018 at Acc.1256.

Administrative / Biographical History

Bill O'Neill worked for News International and was the chief negotiator on behalf of Rupert Murdoch in the dispute with the print unions over the move from Fleet St. to Wapping in 1985-1986. Brenda Dean became the General Secretary of SOGAT in 1984.
