Letters of Robert Rintoul (fl. 1888)

Scope and Content

The material consists of: letter, written H. M. Mint, Friday, to J. C. Jones Esq., and addressed to 'My dear Jones', soliciting patronage for 'a large Ball that is to be given in aid of distressed Highlanders'; and, letter acknowledging receipt of a little pamphlet and 'taking great interest in Highland matters and having been a bit of an authority on this'.

Administrative / Biographical History

Robert Rintoul may have been the son of Robert Stephen Rintoul (1787-1858), the journalist from Perthshire who started The Spectator in 1828.
