Administrative / Biographical History

The Lurgan Hemmers', Veiners' and General Workers' Trade Union was established in 1885. It seems to have gone out of existence by 1891, but was re-established in 1902. It amalgamated with the Transport and General Workers' Union in 1951, but seems to have been largely autonomous until 1963.
