Administrative / Biographical History

This association was founded in 1917 as the Health Insurance Commission (England) Assistant Inspectors' Association. In 1918 it widened its recruiting base to include Scotland, Ireland and Wales as well. In June 1922 it amalgamated with the Ministry of Health, Insurance Department, Divisional Inspectors' and Inspectors' Association to form the Inspectorate Association, Insurance Department, Ministry of Health.
