Health survey registers for Maiduguri, Nigeria (1951-1955); annual report and medical statistics, with "a Dissertation on Some Aspects of Bilharziasis [Schistosomiasis] in Bornu Province, North East Nigeria" by Haworth (1952-1953).

Administrative / Biographical History

Dr. James Haworth was born 1920 and educated at Baines Grammar School in Poulton Le Flyde, Arnold School in Blackpool, and Edinburgh University. During 1943 to 1946 he was on military service with the Royal Army Medical Corps (major). In 1947, he entered the Colonial Medical Service and was posted to Nigeria as a Medical Officer.
