Charles Frederick Cunningham Macaskie (1888-1969) was called to the bar throughGray's Inn, entered North Borneo in 1910 and served in the First World Warin the Royal West Kent Regiment. He was Chief Justice and Deputy Governor,North Borneo, 1934-1945, Brigadier and Chief Civil Affairs Officer, British NorthBorneo, 1945-1946 and Commissioner for War Damage Claims, Borneo Territories,1947-1951. He held the position of Acting British Judge, New Hebrides in1955, 1958 and 1959. 1n 1946 he married D. Cole-Adams, daughter of W.H. Legg.
