Administrative / Biographical History

The Management Systems Training Council (MSTC) was a co-operative organisation that supported training and development in organization and methods and related topics. It began in 1957 as the Organisation and Methods Training Council (OMTC), a co-operative venture of nine large industrial companies. It changed its name to MSTC in 1973, and by 1978 it had over 100 members across all aspects of UK industry and commerce. Its activities had expanded so that lectures were given by full-time staff lecturers. Its activities declined with the 1980s recession and were taken over by commercial organisations. It was wound up in 1994.
