Scope and Content

John de Workesleigh, chaplain, grants to Gilbert son of John de Bartonne certain land which he had from Gilbert in Barton for the term of Gilbert's life. After the death of Gilbert to John son of Gilbert de Bartonne and his heirs of Dianisia daughter of Robert de Stanelegh his wife. If John dies without heirs of Dianisia, then after John's death then to Robert brother of John and his heirs. If Robert dies without heirs, then after Robert's death to Hugo brother of Robert and his heirs. If Hugo dies without heirs, then after Hugo's death, to Edmund brother of Hugo and his heirs. If Edmund dies without heirs, then after Edmund's death to Gilbert brother of Edmund and his heirs. If Gilbert dies without heirs, then after Gilbert's death to Henry brother of Gilbert and his heirs for ever. Witnesses: John de Asshetonne, Robert de Asshetonne, Richard de Rediche, Robert son of Henry of Workesleigh, Thomas de Honington?, Roger de Westleigh, Thomas le Meghe, Robert de Ecclis, clerk.
