Administrative / Biographical History

Harry Grey self-educated politically through the Labour Party League of Youth and NCLC correspondence courses and later was to hold office for the Labour Party at ward and constituency level. He was an active member of USDAW, secretary of the Co-op Educational Committee and after retirement was instrumental in setting up the Nuneaton and District Trades Council Education Group.

Kitty Taylor met Harry Grey when she joined the Nuneaton Labour Party League of Youth. She was social secretary of the constituency party and president of the Nuneaton Co-operative Women's Guild.

Harry and Kitty were the first married couple to jointly receive a national long service award from the Labour party in the 1980s and continued to be politically active until the late 1990s. Harry Grey died in 1998 and Kitty Grey in 2000.
