Abraham de la Pryme: Diary

Scope and Content

Titled 'A Diary of my own life containing an account likewise of the most observable things that I have taken notice of from my youth up hitherto.' The first volume has a brief family history and summary entries for de la Prynne's youth, written in circa 1690, when he began writing the diary. The first volume ends in 1699, with the second volume continuing in 1700 with the final entry in 1704. Both volumes include printed material, correspondence and notes pasted in.

Presented by the daughters of Francis Westly Bagshawe of Norton, near Sheffield. Volume 1 presented in 1955, volume 2 presented in 1964
