Scope and Content

King James I grants to Francis Morrice and Francis Phelipps of London the rectory of Whittlesford, the timber land, rights and appurtenances to them and their heirs to the use of them and their heirs for ever, to hold of the Manor of East Greenwich in free socage, at a certain rent during the life of Dudley Ascham; the grantees are to pay a certain annual sum to the Vicar of the church of Whittlesford and a certain sum to the Deacon of the same, also a certain sum to the Archdeacon of Ely. The Letters are to be under all circumstances a valid title to the property.
