A transcript of a published pamphlet entitled Y gwir i'r byd : sef hanes Eglwys Gynulleidfaol Joppa, Caernarvon consisting of the history of Joppa Congregational Chapel, Caernarfon, Gwynedd.

Administrative / Biographical History

Following a dispute between members of Pen-dref Chapel, Bangor Street, Caernarfon in 1840, 25 - 30 members left and began holding services at the old Bethel Chapel in the same street. Later, land was bought at Snowdon Street and by September 1841 a new chapel had been built and opened called Joppa Chapel.

By 1844 there were 120-130 attending the Sunday school at Joppa and a there would be a congregation of 250 on a Sunday.
