Records relating mainly to the Jenkins, Lewis and Wilmot families, 1647-1818, including deeds relating to properties in Llanddewi Fach and Usk, 1652-1818; deed relating to land in Somerset, 1789; manorial records of Edlogan, 1651-1749; settlements relating to land in Monmouthshire, 1647-1796.

Administrative / Biographical History

The Lewis family of Llanelly, Brecknockshire, held land in Llanddewi Fach in the 17th and 18th centuries. Ruth Lewis married Samuel Wilmot of Yatton, Somerset in the late 18th century. The Jenkins family held land in the parish of Lladdewi Fach, Monmouthshire in the 17th century. Hercules Jenkins of Glascoed, in the parish of Usk, Monmouthshire married Mary Arthur of Trostre in c.1796. Their son James married Elizabeth Handley Wilmot. The Lordship of Edlogan was in parish of Llanddewi Fach.
