Administrative / Biographical History

A.B. Bucknell came from north Devon to Ufton in about 1884. After his death, a son carried on the farm for a short time. Another son of A.B. Bucknell followed from Devon in 1887 and took Old Farm, Padworth, co. Berks (on Benyon Estate). His son (The Arthur W. Bucknell of these accounts and father of the donor) took Lower Farm, Denford, co. Berks in 1908 and moved to Aldermaston in 1911 where he stayed until 1940. The family then moved to Purley, co. Berks where they still farm (1966 June)Forsters Farm: 320 acres
