Administrative / Biographical History

The donor's grandfather bought land in 1906 for 8 an acre. He died in 1910, leaving thirteen children, and much land, although the family had little other wealth. Two of the children, Henry and George, formed a partnership to farm 12,000 acres. Three years after George's death in 1937, Henry's two sons, Harry and Andrew, entered the partnership. Harry's son took a course in agriculture at the University of Cambridge and Andrew's son now farms with his father.
