Administrative / Biographical History

Georgii Aleksandrovich Arkhipov (1891-c.1967) served in the Russian Army in the First World War and was taken prisoner by the Germans. To avoid repatriation to Bolshevik-ruled Russia, he escaped from Germany to Denmark and then to England, where he worked as a bookbinder and played in a balalaika orchestra
