• ff.1-3 Dedication to William Oliver signed 'H[enry] Forester preacher at Tilliallone' [Tulliallan] [identified in a different hand on the title page as 'Mr Forester Preacher at Tulliallan'].
• ff.4-14 A theological tract in three parts giving testimonies from the New Testament which confirmed the promises of grace and mercy made in the Old Testament, that Jesus of Nazareth was the Messiah, to strengthen faith in Jesus as the only saviour.
• Ruled margins with occasional marginalia in the hand of Forrester [marginal note on title page in different hand]

Henry Forrester (c.1569-1617) was the son of Andrew Forester, minister of Kippen. He was educated at Edinburgh University and ordained to Larbert in Stirlingshire in 1597. In 1600 he was translated to Tulliallan in the presbytery of Dunblane, where he remained until his death in 1617.

Sir William Oliphant of Newton (1550-1628) was Lord Advocate of Scotland, 1612-1626.
