Scope and Content

Bundle of about 20 posters of events at the University around 1971, mostly relating to student activities. The events advertised include dances/balls/concerts; special lectures and symposium; Church and carol services; and Student Representative Council Elections. The posters are arranged in bundles by types of events, as follows:

  • Poster of the Corries, and poster advertising a folk concert in University Union, Teviot Row, 18 March c. 1971
  • Two identical posters related to Edinburgh University Sports Association
  • Three posters (two identical) from Edinburgh University Engineering Society, including their Annual Ball on 19 February 1971
  • Two posters for St Giles Cathedral University Services, 25 April 1971 and 23 January (undated)
  • One poster calling to vote for the SRC elections, 13 May 1971
  • Poster for the EUCSU (Engineering University Central Students Union) Annual Ball "Space oddity", 25 February
  • Five posters for ESCA (Edinburgh Students' Charities Appeal) events, including Charities Balls
  • Four identical posters for the Advent Carol Service at the University Chaplaincy Centre, 13 December 1970
  • Advertisement for the New Edinburgh Review (student publication)
  • Five posters for special lectures at the University, organised by The Medical Students Council, Edinburgh Medical Group, and the University Forum, 1972
