Administrative / Biographical History

Frank Lambert composed the comic opera Ladyland, which was premiered in 1904 at the Avenue Theatre, London (according to the Stanford University Library database 'Opening Night!'). It is not known who created these handwritten manuscripts. Both volumes are both are bound as if they were published.

The scores were previously part of the Music Library stock at The University of Nottingham but were transferred to Manuscripts and Special Collections in December 2015, as both volumes consist of handwritten manuscript sheet music.
