Administrative / Biographical History

Rowland Eustace was Registrar of the University College, Nairobi from 1962-5, having been seconded from Senate House, London University. He had worked there in the Registry under Carr Saunders for ten years and was Secretary to the Senate Committee on Colleges Overseas in Special Relation. His remit was to oversee the Africanisation of the College, and its transfer to full University status. He had earlier been on Carr Saunder's tour of Africa which produced a report on the future of tertiary education in the former colonies.
