By virtue of a recognisance 'ordeyned and made by statute for the recovery of dettes' dated the day previous, John Billyngs of Dadyngton [Deddington], Oxfordshire, gent, stands bound to Thomas Pope esq, treasurer of the court of augmentations, in the sum of #500. By this indenture, Pope agrees to forego the sum provided that Billyngs performs all his obligations under a pair of indentures dated 9 October last. Indenture, signed and sealed by 'John Byllyng'. Traces of pendant tagged red round seal. Endorsed in a later hand: 'A voyd / obligation'.
