The papers include typescript notes by Woodhams on Ismail, king of Egypt and Egypt in the nineteenth century, tracings of illustrations re the Suez Canal, a letter and presentation copy of 'The Pleasures of Anglo-Egyptian Co-operation' by Herbert Addison (Sept 1972), two annual reports of the Anglo-Egyptian Association 1973-4, 1974-5, a historical note on the history of the Anglo-Egyptian Association by Herbert Addison, and the typescript of Woodham's long unpublished fictionalised biographical portrait of King Ismail.

Nothing much is known of the author, Frank G Woodhams. According to the letter from Herbert Addison to Woodhams, the two of them had spent some considerable time in the Middle East, and in Egypt in particular, presumably as part of the British civil service there before the War (as Addison refers to the 'provinces'). Woodhams was in America in 1953 (Downers Grove, Illinois) and retired to Paignton, where he was in 1973-75.
