Administrative / Biographical History

Edwin Geoffrey Sarsfield-Hall, born 1886, was a barrister, educated at Clifton College, Dublin University and Cambridge University. He served in the Sudan Political Service from 1908. As Lieutenant-Colonel he served in the Egyptian Army in 1916, and on temporary duty with the Egyptian Expeditionary Force in Egypt/Palestine in 1917. He was awarded the Order of the Nile.
