Administrative / Biographical History
The Penrallt and Cae Maes Lodwig Estates were located in the parish of Bangor. At the turn of the 20th century, they were considered as potential sites for the erection of the new buildings of the University College of North Wales. Eventually, the city council entered into an agreement with Lord Penrhyn for the purchase of Penrallt for that purpose.
