The majority of archive material relating to Coventry University's predecessors is held by the Coventry Archives & Research Centre. This is because until 1989 these organisations - such as Lanchester College of Technology, Lanchester Polytechnic, and Coventry Polytechnic - were administered by Coventry City Council.
