This collection also includes records created, used or received by L C White in his capacity as CSCA official and a member of the Staff Side of the National Whitley Council for the Civil Service.

Administrative / Biographical History

The Civil Service Alliance was formed in 1938 to co-ordinate the activities of the Civil Service Clerical Association (CSCA), the County Court Officers' Association (CCOA), the Inland Revenue Staff Federation (IRSF) and the Ministry of Labour Staff Association (MLSA). Its first secretary was L C White, then assistant general secretary of the CSCA. The CSA was wound up in 1974 on the absorption by the CSCA of the CCOA and the MLSA.
